Questions
Hello everyone
I used to play Guild Wars right when it came out, before switching to WoW. I've quit WoW, and now I'm thinking of getting back into Guild Wars. I don't remember my old login stuff for my old account, so I'd have to buy the original campaign, plus the others that I've never bought. I have a few questions to ask before buying however; Do people still play all the missions for all the campaigns and the expansion? If not, are the henchmen competent enough to solo all of the main storyline quests and side quests? Also, are there any what editions of each game should I buy? Wikipedia says there are a whole bunch of different kinds of the game. If it depends on playstyle, I'd say I'm gonna probably run through the main story only a one or two times, but do as many side quests and pvp as much as possible. Thanks a bunch |

Yes people still play missions and quests. Now you can switch between American or European districts. More districts mean greater chance to find a party. Right now there are heroes available, they are customizable henchmen and you can select the skills and equipments you want them to have. So most of the time because of them missions and quests are in my opinion can be done in solo mode There are three campaigns(chapters) right now, Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and the first expansion Eye of the North |

People still play the older campaigns, although there are a few places in Factions that are rather quiet. If you can't find a human team, for whatever reason, the henchmen and heroes are plenty competent enough to get you through the game.
If you're buying the game again and starting everything from scratch, I'd suggest picking up the Platinum Edition first. It contains both Prophecies and Eye of the North, so it's 2 games for the price of one. You can easily add Factions and Nightfall after that. Nightfall is a must if you want to develop a better selection of heroes; while Eye of the North offers heroes as well, Nightfall is where most of the heroes can be picked up. |
